Candy Girl, Why Do You Like Candy So Much? Because it's So Pretty, I thought that was obvious???

Hey party people happy Saturday to you! It's officially holiday party time and we have been working on some of the most magical Winter Wonderlands, Hanukkah themes and good ol' Red & Green Christmas Candy Stations! So as I was working this fabulous event today and this really sweet lady named Elaine asks me, " Why do you like candy so much, are you a candyholic?" I replied instantly, "No, I just think it's so pretty and I know how to make it look pretty too!" I began to share with her that since I was little I have been absolutely obsessed by anything shiny, sparkly, glittery & pretty. Anyhow, today I stumbled upon several old family photos one in particular that caught my attention because it looked like a magical princess. It was a picture of one of my favorite aunts or as I have called her my whole life, my Tia Lupe. ( For all you non-latinos Tia simply means aunt in spanish) My Tia Lupe was a beauty queen in her hometown of Tecalitlan Jalisco, Mexico. My mom comes from a family of 12 kids! TWELVE as in 10, 11, 12!!! Yeah, I know sometimes I even wonder how my grandmother did it and she still looks fabulous, she's healthy and has enough love to spread around to our entire enormous family and she prays for every single one of us daily. I think she and the big man upstairs are super duper BFF'S 4 eva! Do you know how many cousins are created from 12 aunts & uncles? 12 Mexican Aunts & Uncles! Don't even get me started! Well let me tell you, I think I stopped counting after the 100th or so was born.  Sometimes I meet kids at family parties and they say, "Hey Cousin!" And I'm like, "Who Me?" I'm telling you, these kids pop out of everywhere, bushes, trees, the sky, they just keep coming. Anyhow, these amazing and very fertile women in my life made me believe women could do and be anything they wanted, nothing is impossible and you could achieve some pretty great things in your lifetime ( also only achieved by working your beautiful butt off). So this post is dedicated to my beautiful aunts & cousins & my mom & grandmother . Many of us have turned out to be some of the most interesting, self centered, beautiful & super fun women ever! I love that you all have always tried to out do each other in the most loving way possible! And you still do!
( I am totally joking but c'mon in this family it's kinda true) And here is to the most beautiful one of all.. ME, ME, ME!  I win hands down in the gorgeous department! Lol- I know some eyes will be rolling really far back with that statement! I love you all Tia Tere, Tia Lupe, Tia Gaby, Madrina Tere, Tia Lili, Tia Lus, Tia Rosa, Abuelita, Mi Mama, Tia Beatriz & Y Todas Mis Primas Hermosas!

I love you ladies, each and every one of you! Thank you for loving me, picking me up when I fall and even though you all think I'm a little nuts, you still love me! Besitos!

Today I received this awesome email from one of our Facebook/ Blog Followers. I so appreciate and try to read every single email we receive. Eventually I do get around to all of them. I think that Human connections are so important and although it's easy for people to live their lives isolating themselves, hiding behind their computers or social networks, we sometimes forget how important it is to connect with people on a deeper and more meaningful level. Often times, the kindest words of praise and inspiration come from people who I have never even met. I appreciate YOU Jaime for taking the time to share this with me. First off, I have to tell you how amazing you are and what an awesome business you have created. I have been following you on facebook for about a month or so and love looking at pictures of ur amazing parties and appreciate how real you are on ur blog. The world needs more real people like you. I can see how people would want to copy you. UR THE BEST AT WHAT YOU DO. Keep ur head high girl. Don't let the stupid people get you down and don't forget how amazing you really are.

I was going to email you a little while back when you first posted about ur dads health but just couldn't find the rights words to say. I am so sorry for what you and ur family are going through right now and will keep your dad and ur family in my prayers. My father was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer this year and we have been on one hell of a roller coaster ride ever since. 

I know that you don't know me, but if there is anything that you need, wanna break, scream at or just vent to I am a good listener.

OMG! A 14 Year Old Is Totally In Love With Me And His Name Is Riley Cohen Future Major League Baseball Star Who Is Sooooo Friggin' Cool!

Hey Party People, So I have to admit it. I think I'm kinda cool sometimes. I mean, some days more then others for sure but I was totally validated when our bakalicious baker Kelle Cake Pops son Riley Cohen who is seriously so popular, so good looking and a totally buffed out  ( all said with MAJOR Sarcasm in my voice) 14 year old future Major League Baseball Star came over to my house and hung out with me and my baby. Granted, he only hung out because his mom forced him to come with her and then her car battery died so they had to wait an extra 1/2 hour for AAA to arrive to give her a jump start. Even though Riley Cohen only waived to me when he arrived through the window of his moms car, I knew inside he was jumping for pure 14 year old joy when he saw me!  I forced him to get out and give me a hug and come in the house. Teenagers Love being forced to give people hugs i've learned. Riley had so much to say, I think it went something like "Hey" and then he went straight to the computer to watch youtube videos, he broke into my Facebook account to update my status with very inappropriate 14 year old humor about things like bodily functions. He continued to take photos of himself on my computer and left them for me as special gifts. OH! And how could I forget, he did this all while sucking on a red lollipop he found and also managed to eat the dinner I had made for my husband that I left on the kitchen stove and PS- I never have time to make dinner and I had worked really hard on those 3 hot-links from Costco that took me 18 minutes to bake! Such a sweet boy this Riley Cohen. I love that I am now his Tia Yackie or Aunt Jackie for those of you who are un-familar with Espanol. You know what  this all means right? Well, it's clear that Riley is totally and absolutely in LOVE with me. Sorry Mariah, you should know this though ( His girlfriend) He probably can't wait to turn 18 so he can ask me to be his new girlfriend..legally at least. I just want him to know that by the time he is 18 I will probably be so over him and living in Bel Air and he can certainly try to get in touch with me but he'll have to get through all my people to do so. My personal assistant, her assistant, our trainer, chef, pool boy, dog walker, nanny, driver, lawyer, accountant, spiritual advisor, manager, agent, book publisher, and dogs. Good Luck Riley. All I can say is you won't be the first to have fallen in love with all this Candyliciousness and my darling boy, you certainly won't be the last! Hope you LalaLOVE this blog post, I'm so good at funny pay backs! See you at your next big game, I've decided to start coming to cheer you on and I'm going to be selling shirts in the parking lot that say TEAM RILEY on the front and HE'S SOOO BUFF & COOL on the back! Maybe I'll sell them on ebay too! XoXo!
