The Day Our Candy King Became The Cupcake Boss! Oy Vey is Right!

Happy monday candy family!

I find Monday's kind of exhausting since on our planet Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays are when we work non-stop, 24-7 and are crazy bananas, bonkers, busy! Anyhow, in between doing a bunch of stuff our Candy King who is my baby daddy & husband or ( Mr. Perfect, no issues, no drama, perfect dad & perfect human being and sweet husband ( said with a ridiculous amount of sarcasm as he hates when we call him this) decides to embark on an idea he's been talking about for over 6 months. Now if you know me you know that I can be kind of tough sometimes and for the last 6 months every time I've heard him talk about this idea I've said, "Yeah, yeah.. talk is cheap, show me some action baby" Well, he finally decided it was time to put his money where his mouth is and.. he baked!

We kind of love the Cake Boss on TLC and we met while I lived in Hoboken, New Jersey where the Carlos Bakery is located. We fell in lust ,I mean love over several of Buddy's Cannoli's, Cakes & Italian Cookies. Anyhow, after this Sunday's cupcake creation, (he made them from scratch and even bought books) the Candy King has officially been deemed, " The Cupcake Boss" he's got the New Yawker accent, he wears da Mets Hat with Big Apple pride!  Mr. Wonderful Perfect even bakes while holding his baby, the Heiress to the candy empire and presents his masterpiece Peanut Butter Cupcakes on a fancy tower. He know's how we do it and don't you ever try and present anything on a paper plate (Dramatic GASP, God forbid!) We begged him to pose in our Candy Girl Aprons and he finally gave in after begging for a solid 10 minutes. This is a guys, guy who likes watching his baseball while eating some Hawt Dawgs, sippin' on a Rum & Coke and enjoys yelling at the players when they do something bad. He likes playing his video games with other game geeks who wear head sets and take video game survival more seriously then anything I've ever seen! Anyhow, to get him to give us his best sassy "candy girl" pose in one of our aprons was a fete but so worth it! You see, even a guy's guy and a dude's dude can get in touch with his feminine side every now and then, they just have to be hand held and re-assured that male cupcake bakers can be very sexy & macho too!

Bravo to our Cupcake Boss who called me this Monday morning to say, (Remember the heavy New Yawk accent) " Babe! I gotta go get some confectioners suga' for my chocolate buttercream icin', I'm gonna try a new recipe after work! Oh, do we have any colored sprinkles?" WHAT! Now all I can say is.. There is NOTHING more macho than your husband asking you for colored sprinkles! Who am I to crush anyone's dreams? Nobody! And this is such good material for my blog so  I'm running with this new adventure of his and bringing you along for the ride. Happy Baking!

And PS- we secretly LalaLOVE that he wanted to do this so bad, so cute! I just like bustin' his chops.

The Heiress is not buying it!

Words of Inspi! How we Love Our Mama Oprah & The Life Lessons She Helps Us To Understand! Mom & Dad Helped Too Ya' Know!

"Lots of people want to ride in the Limo with you, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down." - Oprah Winfrey
So clearly we are not riding around in Limo's all day long but the truth is, people want to ride on other people's Awesome Trains all the time and expect some sort of Free Ticket to ride! Umm.. How about, NO! If you don't do the work, put in the time, learn from the failures and actually grow & learn a thing or two, then quite honestly, you shouldn't be in the limo. It's a good thing mom, dad & mama Oprah have taught us valuable life lesson's and explained them in ways we can understand. Who you surround yourself with says a lot about you and being able to identify those people who are authentically interested in you as a person are few and far in between. It's cool though, as far as this group of  candy girls goes, we'd take the bus, stand in the snow in flip flops and run over hot coals barefoot for each other. And I personally would,  catch a grenade for ya' throw my hand on a blade for ya', I'd jump in front of a train for ya', you know I'd do anything for ya'. Wait! Bruno Mars said that but it's lyrically genius! And knowing THAT is our reality, is a beautiful thing.

XoXo, Candy Girl

PS- Girls- I've just ordered annual buss passes for each one of us that we can puffy paint and bedazzle, just in case... Oh!! And don't worry, buses in Hollywood are actually really high-tech- kind of pimped out. Totally eco-friendly too and it's fun to ride next to the tourists!

We've Got Mail! DANA CHAMPION! You're so sweet, creative & thoughtful and clearly a super fabulous chick! Thanks for your very sweet email!

This is super duper cute & totally Hollywood Candy Girl-ish!

Hi- Ya Party People,
As you may know, we get a Ton-O- emails from clients, friends, fans and even the occasional spies & stalkerazzi who pretend to be "normal" humans and not aliens but we've got a creepy sixth sense about this stuff and we always figure it out! Anyhow, we received a very thoughtful email regarding some creative products that one of our candy fans thought we may like.. she's right! We like it! Actually NO! Cheer this out! We Like It, We Love It, Gimmee More Of It! Looking forward to seeing this stuff in person. Best of Luck to you Dana and good for you having sent us that email. You see, behind all the "Oh No She Didn't's" and sassy stuff, we're actually kinda corny, sensitive, softies who like helping others shine a little more than they already do! Your sparkly, I can tell. And... Please thank that husband of yours for protecting us and serving our country so bravely! What a HERO!

And PS- Dana, You're right! We are SO busy doing "Big Things" but doing a " Big Thing" for another person sometimes is truly more meaningful than any of those " Big Things" that we're busy doing. Pay it forward baby.. Karma, Karma, Karma- It's real and it's a Beautiful thing!

Subject: I LOVE YOUR WORK!!
To: info@customcandybuffetbars.com

Hi Ladies, I'm a military spouse and the owner of a Etsy store and also a huge fan and follower of you guys on Facebook. Your work is gorgeous and you take such pride in all your projects, I am writing because I make a couple of candy items that I think you guys would love and I would be honored if you decided to use them in potential client's candy bars. I make a edible wedding gown lollipop that I call "Will you be my bridesmaid?" and a "Snuggle Baby" lollipop that is a baby shower favor. I would love to send you a sample of each of them and get your feedback on them, in fact it would be an honor if that's not a problem with you. I don't want to cross the line or step on any toes. I'm new to this whole thing and would love to work with a company as dedicated as you all are. I am attaching a picture of each item and I hope to hear from you guess soon. Thank you in advance for even taking the time to read this I know you're very busy doing big things.

                                                                                   Sincerely,
                                                                                   Dana Champion

T-24 Hrs Until Idol Mania!!!!!!

T-24 Hrs to Idol Mania!!! These candy girls work so hard and we are usually over joyed with excitement and way to much energy OR we're overwhelmed with emotion and crying happy tears of amazement! We appreciate every opportunity we're give, every client, every event, every inquiry, every opportunity to earn a client's business and we believe that if you work hard, be nice to others, always stand for yourself, learn to say sorry ( when warranted), help old people cross the street, always rescue stray dogs on the freeway and if you listen to your mom and dad too.. everything will be aiiiight! At this moment, we're just feeling particularly grateful and happy and wanted to share that!

Praise The Candy Gods!!! Finally, A Photo Has Been Taken Where My Husband is Clearly Not Sooooo Much Better Looking Then Me... Which is normally the case!!

In the spirit of "Keeping it Real" I am going to say this, FINALLY a photo has been taken where my husband is clearly not soooo much better looking then me! When you have a baby you just go through massive changes and some of us don't bounce back to sexy as quickly as we'd hope to and to be fair, working in Candy Land, Cake Land, Cookie Land, Cupcake & Passed Hours Devours at every single event Land etc...  is a serious matter that I often take up with with my therapist, Dr. Issues.  I was never model skinny, amazon chick tall or super ripped to begin with and even then, I still managed to get the occasional perv truck driver honk on the freeway or Hey girl Heeeeey while working an all nighter in  Da' club with my Candy girls! Anyhow, A big thank you to my lovely and dear friend Mrs. Sarah Zahran who snapped this snazzy pic. She's the owner of Sarah Z Events ( www.sarahzevents.com)!  She's a total wedding goddess and I love her and her gorgeous family and delicious daughters. And for the record, I barely even photo shopped this picture and I think the weird artichoke diet that was smuggled in from Mexico for me may actually be working.. a little!

Totally Woke Up Today Wanting To Share How To Deal!

The Hollywood Candy Girls are kind of like Doctors for the soul and the truth is Women go through stuff that's not always fun, so we wanted to share How we deal...

When someone talks badly about you, instead of trying to defend yourself you should say:

"OOObviously you don't know me very well, since there are sooo many other interesting faults I have that you could have mentioned! Then skip off barefoot in your pink overalls, twirl & then high kick into the splits!

Someone asked me how I would describe us Candy Girls and I said We're The Spice Girls of Candy!...

Hi-Ya Party Peeps,
So this is kind of random but I love the way it sounds. During an interview today I was asked to describe what us Candy Girls are all like and as I began to go down the list and describe each of us one by one, I suddenly stopped and just said, "You know, We're kind of like the Spice Girls of Candy because we really are all so different" Then I thought, " No! We're actually very special girls with a very interesting story on how we all came together and came to be. We're actually so special that we are some of Gods limited editions! I'm just gonna say it, I think girls should be bold, and brave and sassy and silly and fun and totally who ever they want to be. Kinda like the Spice Girls who I was and am still so totally obsessed with to this day! So with that High Self-Esteem moment I wish you all a good night and leave you with a High Kick into the Splits! Sweet Dreams...
